On December 10, 2023, the "2023 China Medical Equipment Innovation and Transformation High-Quality Development Conference and the Establishment Conference of the Hospital Equipment Innovation and Transformation Branch of the China Food and Drug Promotion Association" was grandly held in Shanghai, under the guidance of the China Food and Drug Enterprise Quality and Safety Promotion Association (hereinafter referred to as "China Food and Drug Promotion Association"), hosted by the Hospital Equipment Innovation and Transformation Branch of the China Food and Drug Promotion Association (in preparation), and co-organized by Shanghai Health Medical College and Shanghai University of Technology. With the theme of "innovation, integration, empowerment, and transformation", the conference focused on the fields of strategic research on innovation and transformation of medical devices, regulatory science research, intellectual property management, patent innovation and patent transformation, and invited famous experts and scholars in academia and outstanding medical and engineering talents in the industry to gather together to discuss the development and future of the field of medical equipment innovation.

The China Medical Equipment Innovation and Transformation High-quality Development Conference was hosted by Yang Guobin, the proposed chairman of the Hospital Equipment Innovation and Transformation Branch (in preparation) of the China Food and Drug Promotion Association and the executive dean of Kenis Business School. The conference was hosted by Zhuang Songlin, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Ding Xiaodong, president and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai University of Technology, and Wei Qiming, an academician of the American College of Cardiology/American College of Thoracic Sciences. They analyzed the current status and existing problems of medical equipment development around the three themes of "Transforming scientific and technological innovation into medical service innovation", "Building a medical and engineering cross-innovation system to help speed up the localization of high-end medical equipment", and "Innovation, transformation and application of medical artificial intelligence technology". They explored new paths to promote the healthy development of national medical equipment technology innovation, quality improvement and industrialization, and provided opportunities for in-depth learning and exchanges for participating experts and enterprises.

The inaugural meeting of the Hospital Equipment Innovation and Transformation Branch of the China Food and Drug Promotion Association was held immediately afterwards. Sun Zhan, executive vice president and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai Geriatric Medical Center, served as the host. Huang Xinwang, vice president and secretary-general of the China Food and Drug Promotion Association, read out the approval for the establishment of the branch, organized the election of the branch leadership team, and announced the formal establishment of the Hospital Equipment Innovation and Transformation Branch of the China Food and Drug Promotion Association.

The Hospital Equipment Innovation and Transformation Branch of the China Food and Drug Promotion Association innovatively established a functional party branch. Functional party organizations refer to party organizations with different characteristics established based on the characteristics of social development, industrial transformation and the distribution of party building resources, through the scientific integration of grassroots party member resources, and relying on "two new" organizations and mass organizations of different categories, forms and functions, so as to realize the redistribution, re-combination and re-optimization of party organization resources. Its basic requirement is to flexibly set up different forms of party organizations based on the different needs of party members in the "two new" organizations and mass "autonomous" organizations. Its ultimate task is to make the party's concept the direction to guide the healthy development of the "two new" organizations and mass organizations, and to make party organizations and party members the core force for the harmonious growth of the "two new" organizations and mass organizations. The establishment of a functional party branch is a positive exploration process for the China Food and Drug Promotion Association, which will give full play to the party's leading and guiding role.

The development of the Hospital Equipment Innovation and Transformation Branch of the China Food and Drug Promotion Association cannot be separated from the active leadership of the "leader". In his inaugural speech, Yang Guobin, who was elected as the chairman of the branch, reported on the construction and work plan of the branch, and emphasized that the branch should establish and improve the party building management system, explore the construction of functional grassroots party organizations in social organizations, conscientiously implement the main responsibility and supervision responsibility for party style and clean government construction, and accept the discipline supervision of the party's disciplinary inspection organs. It was proposed that Comrade Yuan Xuefeng, the former secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai Stomatological Hospital and the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Fudan University, be appointed as the secretary of the party branch, and the delegates at the meeting unanimously applauded.

In order to give full play to the enthusiasm and initiative of the branch leadership team, mobilize all the positive factors and resources of the branch, create a dynamic and distinctive academic group for hospital equipment innovation and transformation, and open up a successful path for the rapid growth and innovative development of the branch, Yang Guobin proposed to establish a "rotating chairman mechanism". The branch chairman is rotated by the elected branch vice chairmen. Under the leadership of the branch chairman, he is responsible for handling important affairs of the branch during the rotation period, organizing academic activities and research projects, developing member units and members, and promoting patent incubation and achievement transformation.

Academician Mao Zhenbin, President of the China Food and Drug Promotion Association, congratulated the establishment of the branch through a video. He pointed out that the field of hospital medical device innovation has the characteristics of multidisciplinary intersection, high-tech intensiveness, and active technological innovation, but the transformation of results is difficult and the cycle is long, which requires cross-disciplinary, cross-departmental, and even cross-industry collaboration.
